Morning Blues

Sun is still hiding behind the woods, but its mild rays have already reached part of the world. Same way as I am still deep in sleep, alarm clock on my android has already started singing good morning song. I thank to all the mobile companies, from the bottom of my heart, first thing in the morning every day, although I still remember my grandmother's words to thank the God first thing in the morning for giving us another new day and pray him for making that day a pleasant one. But, what worst can any person do to anybody more than disturbing one from a good sound sleep early in the morning and every morning.. (and if that person is youself who tunes the alarm before sleep?)

After thanking those gentlemen (who invented alarm clock and who incorporated this into phone), now I start to crib about having 5 working days in a week. I would have thanked this guy who gave the idea of 5 working days also if at all I had some idea of his idea.

Then I wonder why nights are shorter than days or its just that somebody is cheating on us by moving the earth faster than usual when we are deep asleep. After lots of Miss Marple’s and Mr. Holmes’, I must have acquired this habit of suspecting and spying, nevermind!

Now, its time to crib about office hours that is 8 in the morning, why can’t it be 9 or 10 am. It doesn’t do any good, though, it’s just a thought. Now, after all the cribbing, its time to take a decision; to wakeup or sleep for some more time. We are all die hard professionals; we check pros and cons of any option available before making the decision and what ever the decision it may be.

So, now I am in the analysis mode. So If I want sleep more, I need to take a bus or book a cab. But Bus?? to Whitefield ?? Are you crazy? No way. It’s not that the buses are very bad in Bangalore, every 5 mins a nice Red AC Volvo bus picks you up from anywhere in Bangalore and drops you at Whitefield. It’s of course better than our office cabs, but it’s just that we need to check on our daily horoscope once, before getting into it. I am just speaking about the availability of seats or else one has to stand all the way, you know. If you are lucky enough, you will get a seat but what time you will be dropped in Whitefield is the point. The Ghastly traffic in silk board!! That’s sounds scary, isnt it?

What about taking a rick? I feel it’s easier to cross the country border than to take a rick from my place to Whitefield. I seriously have no idea why I think so!!! Now another option is to book a cab. But it’s a costly affair - I need to spend 450 bucks to reach office and that too for just reaching the office half and hour before what the trip in Volvo AC bus would have taken. And more over I have to pay 50 extra for the cab driver to switch on the AC. Both the options ruled out.

Now I remember work from home option. That sounds sooooo soothing except for the bad feeling of lying my boss with obvious reason of "Not well"(its actually not lying, I am ill and have a problem of sleeping more). This can be done but there is something called responsibility- I need to check my calendar to see what calls I have to attend today and again decide if I have to be there or can I take the call from home, for this I need to open my laptop though I have a feeble memory of my meeting schedules for the day.

Well, I somehow decide to work from home, but unfortunately all this decision making process took me 5-7 mins, by using my brain for such a important decision of my life early in the morning has made by brain so much more active now that i don’t feel sleepy anymore. So why should i work from home when the very purpose is not solved.

So finally I decide to get up and go to office in the company cab – after all its far too much feasible, a pleasant journey in a nice climate at 6.30 am, a little bit of saving in terms of money and all, I will not be sinner for lying my boss about fake illness. What more can the person expect. Yes of course, I can sleep one more hour in the cab peacefully, unless there is somebody behind cracking some crap jokes.

However, I need to hurry up as I am already late by 5-7 mins. What difference that would it make? Yes of course it makes a lot of difference, every minute is so precious, hope you understand how precious the time is.

Happy Morning!!!
